The modern security paradigm calls for robust encryption protecting data traffic released to the air or through the Internet. This paradigm has one serious weakness:

Traffic patterns expose the communicating parties even if the encrypted contents of their communications remains secure.

Pattern recognition techniques home on the amount of data exchanged, rate of exchange, the relative length of messages by the various parties, who responds to whom, with how much delay, etc. It is a wealth of information that helps an adversary to the detriment of any user of an open channel.

WhiteShadow™ is solution that is formed by creating a constant fixed bit stream between the communicating parties. The bits look random to the outsider, and some of them are. But the rest constitute the communicated message.

The prevailing algorithms to effect such a constant random-looking stream employ a header/trailer technique, which can be spotted by a clever cryptanalyst. WhiteShadow™ is based on Daniel and does not use detectable headers and trailers to distinguish the content from the garbage.
